Background Check
A current background screening is required. Screenings are good for 2 years. Check your status in your portal on the USA Hockey website.

Required every year. After the initial course, the next 2 years are a “refresher”; then the full course must be repeated.
SafeSport training ↗Coaching Modules
Complete the age-appropriate module before being added to a roster. Modules don't expire, so if you've already completed it you don't need to redo it.
Age-specific modules ↗Coaching Education Program (CEP)
All coaches need a current CEP certification. CEP levels 1–3 must take the next level each year. At level 4, complete 5 continuing education credits (CEUs) every 2 years. Your status and CEU count show in your USA Hockey coach profile.
